DAY 3 – MATFEN HALL

After another delicious breakfast, we began to prepare ourselves for the final stage of this demanding tournament.
Grey skies and heavy rain accompanied us all the way up the road to Matfen Hall, another impressive stately bundle.
Here we encountered a very interesting configuration – three 9-hole courses to play in any combination.
Our choice for the 18 holes: the Dewlaw and the Douglas.

Despite the damp and the heavy going, our troops performed well on a tricky and at time quirky layout.
It would be nice to revisit this undulating and entertaining parkland course in better weather.
