Despite picking up just 4 points on the final round, it was in fact Harper who managed to ward off the rest of the field and win the tournament. The bookies were not so happy, but the man had fought fairly and squarely for the title and was a deserving winner. So congratulations to the new Dudley Champion!

This was certainly one of the closest competitions ever, and the general consensus was that the standard of golf was also significantly better than in previous years. Golfers are reminded to start saving their pennies, as the Dudley Open 2008 will be staged abroad to celebrate the 10th anniversary. In the meantime, happy golfing and see you next year!
