The
Kittocks Course
Par 72 and 7192 yards originally designed by Gene Sarazen. It has
some beautiful holes with unparalleled vistas as the course hugs
the dramatic Fife coastline.
The Kittocks course (previously known as the Devlin) has been constructed
in a style that recalls American-man-made lakes, but the layout
honours the tradition of golf at St Andrews with two double greens
and numerous deep pot bunkers and, of course, the most important
ingredient, the feeling.
After
a fairly gentle start, the Kittocks goes wild when the par five
5th stretches along the Kittock's Den. The vista opens up and the
land begins to pitch and roll. Unfamiliar terrain, but steady weather
and wonderful scenery. Let battle commence!

So
how would the dice roll on the final round? Stephen Rooney showed
exactly why he thought the competition was worth travelling all
the way from Australia for: he carded yet another 35 points, bringing
his gross score over the three rounds to a formidable 102 points.
Despite another steady score of 31 on Sunday, Johnson was well behind
that, on a gross score of 96.
Perhaps tiredness or residual alcohol poisoning was making itself
felt on the final day, but once again only 6 players managed to
score 30 points or more, with even the defending champ dipping to
28 this time round.
