DAY 1 – SLAYLEY HALL – PRIESTMAN COURSE

Perhaps it was the unfamiliarity with the course, the many hazards, the lack of warm-up or the not-so-great weather,
but the 1st round scores on Friday afternoon were not that sparkling.
There was the usual tooth and nail battle between Messrs Erdal and Monaghan not to finish last,
and then a fair spread of shots till the field closes up around 28 to 30 stableford points.

With Roberston and Johnson pushing ahead into a commendable joint second place.
Once again, however, the master of the compact swing, Dave Graham,
finished with an amazing 38 points to win the day.
