ROUND 3 SUNDAY - SILLOTH GOLF CLUB
You have to make an extra special effort to get to Silloth because it is located in one of the most remote and isolated places in England, at the mouth of the Solway Firth. Silloth isn't the longest course you will ever play but with almost no 'flat' fairways, accuracy from the tee is vital to avoid the gorse. When the wind blows, it's unlikely that you will play to your handicap. Even on a calm day, you'll find it tough. The course has a few idiosyncrasies, but so too do all great courses. A few blind carries and the vagaries of the links bounce test the players resolve. Some
fantastic par 3's and a couple of reachable par 5's make a low score
a possibility, however if you stray only slightly from the beaten
track this course can really bite you! And that day it was especially
hungry!
