ROUND 3 SUNDAY - SILLOTH GOLF CLUB The players found the course once again basking under sunny skies, though as the day wore on the breeze stiffened a little. They quickly realised that any waywardness off the tee was going to be bad news. The rough seemed to simply gobble up any stray ball and bury it under heather, grass or gorse. Any damage not inflicted on the scores by lost balls and blind drives, fast greens and steep bunkers quickly made up for. Not a single person played to handicap to score 36 points. This time it was unusual to see some of the more steady players, Jennings Jaco and Cramb trailing at the back of the field. Johnson
once again produced a fairly solid performance in third place on 30
points, matched by Graham and Jago, while Rooney continued the steady
showing of the prior round, carding a 31. But it was actually Robertson
that strode out in front, 4 points ahead of the field on 35 points.
